This isn’t because I haven’t found the right guy.
My favourite thing about Ocean’s 8 is the scene where Debbie and Lou had to distract Rose a little while talking to Daphne so she didn’t seem to interested.
“Ah yes, the right way to distract this 50 year old fashion designer is to use bubble guns and blow bubbles outside the window!”
And it WORKED
1. Knowing deep inside that you are good enough.
2. Believing you can do it, and believing you can make it.
3. Choosing to be grateful when you feel like complaining.
4. Choosing to hang in there when you feel you’ve had enough.
5. Knowing each new day is a true gift and fresh beginning.
6. Valuing others, and treating others well.
7. Investing in people instead of chasing things.
(A/N): This thing is honestly everywhere and horrible. I’m sorry.

Summary: You’re the new vigilante in National City but your girlfriend, Lena, and your sisters, Alex and Kara, don’t know. What happens when a mission gone wrong forces you to reveal your secret?

It’s a Saturday morning and you’re atop the tall, L-Corp building with your mask half on your face as you squat on the corner of the building. You watch the hustling and bustling of the busy streets of National City below and you take a deep breath, closing your eyes. You let the fresh enter through your nose when all of a sudden, the hairs all over your body stick up, causing goosebumps to form, and a faint ringing fills your ear.
Sirens can be heard in the distance and you’re on full alert now, quickly pulling down your mask causing the AI you built into your suit to come to life. “What do we got, here.” You mumble to yourself as it pulls up video footage of the recent news.
A newswoman on NC News pops up in front of your eyes, updating on the current situation. “A heavily armed vehicle steal from the National City Bank and is heading down 4th and 5th street. Police are trying to take hold of the situation and urgently advise civilians to stay cleared of the streets for these burglars are armed with possible enhanced weaponry and are severely dangerous. If you have any information on these men, please contact the NC Police.”
The sirens are closer now and your spider sense is ringing louder and you look to see the heavily armored vehicle speeding towards you with many police cars in tow. “Let’s get to work.” You declare with a smirk as you leap forward, diving headfirst towards the ground.
You will never get over the adrenaline rush you get every time you do that, and you can’t help but laugh, seeing yourself in the window reflection as the ground fast approaches. However, before you hit the ground, you press your web shooters causing it to latch onto a neighboring building before you swing in the direction of the burglars. You then use your momentum, launching yourself into the air before freefalling once more, now caught up to the vehicle and you land on top of one with a soft thud.
You crawl to the side of the vehicle, making yourself visible to the burglar. “Hey man, I’d really appreciate it if you stopped the vehicle.” You yell past all the commotion and he turns, looking surprised before a snarl takes over his face.
“Damn spider.” He growls as he grabs a machine gun next to him, aiming it at you before firing.
A quick scream leaves your mouth as you quickly jump and latch to the roof once again as bullets come flying out the window. “I even asked nicely. Have it your way!” You yell from atop and you crawl towards the back doors of the vehicle.
You latch onto the doors before breaking them open, revealing large stacks of money with two other men in the back. They look as if they’re laughing but immediately stop when spotting you and they point their guns before shooting. You dodge the bullets before using your web shooter to grab both the guns from the men’s hands, leaving them defenseless.
However, one of the men grab a large gun which is glowing a blue hue and your spider senses start ringing so loud, it makes your head hurt. You listen to your powers, jumping up out of the way but the man shoots the gun, sending off a powerful wave of energy which causes the back of the vehicle to ascend upwards. You’re also flipping upwards to in attempt to avoid the crashing vehicle and everything suddenly goes into slow motion.
You take in the oncoming intersection and the walking pedestrians in the way and you want to avoid as many injuries and casualties as possible. So, as your soaring through the air, you place your thumb over your web shooter causing many strands of it to go latch onto surrounding buildings before you attach the ends to the vehicle. The webs immediately catch the vehicle and it stops it from crashing into more cars and people before falling back to its original position with a loud thud.
You flip, landing into your ‘superhero stance’ by pure habit and you watch as the police cars surround the vehicle with weapons drawn. You hear a string of applause from around and you turn seeing civilians clapping excitedly as they look to you. You can’t help but smile at the recognition, but it disappears when an incoming call with the picture of your girlfriend pops up in front of your eyes.
“Incoming call from Lena Luthor.” Your AI states and you answer it.
“Hey, Lena!” You greet as you send waves of goodbyes to civilians before shooting your webs and soaring through the air to avoid them hearing your conversation.
“(Y/N), where are you? You’re 10 minutes late.” Lena announces, and panic slowly overtakes you as you forget what you’re late for. “And are you driving with the windows down?”
You quickly launch yourself before flipping onto the top of a building, grabbing your backpack. “Right, I’m late, I’m late…” You ramble before biting down on your lip nervously. “For what exactly?”
“Our lunch date with your sisters at Noonan’s. The ones we have every Saturday. (Y/N), did you seriously forget?” Lena questions with a tinge of disbelief in her voice and you internally slap yourself as you quickly jump off the building towards the restaurant, that’s only a few blocks away.
“Shit, I’m so sorry, Lena! I’m just around the corner. I’ll be there in a sec.” At that, you hang up before swinging as fast as you can towards the restaurant.
You quickly fall into an alleyway before changing rapidly into your normal clothes and running your fingers through your slightly sweaty hair. You mumble a string of curses before running into the small diner, immediately seeing your sisters and Lena in your usual booth. You strut towards them before sliding in next to Lena and all three of them send you curious expressions.
“Look who decided to show up.” Alex comments, raising an eyebrow but nonetheless allows a small smile to tug at her lips.
“I can’t believe you forgot about our lunch date! You and I always compete on who can eat the most pot stickers and pizza!” Kara adds exasperatedly as she gives a small pout.
“I even reminded you this morning.” Lena states, tilting her head to the side, intertwining her fingers with yours under the table.
You sigh, nodding your head as you look to the ceiling. “Okay, I messed up! I’m sorry. Can we please just eat now?” You grumble and all three women chuckle.
“We’ve been wanting to eat for 10 minutes.” Alex responds, and you kick her under the table, which only causes her to laugh more.
“I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.” She returns smugly, and you roll your eyes.
The waiter comes around, taking your orders and when he leaves, Lena pipes up. “So, Kara, how’s your research on that new vigilante swinging around?” Your girlfriend questions and you immediately go silent at the new subject.
“Nothing so far. They’re still new to the city and the DEO isn’t sure about their intentions.” Kara answers, arms gesturing around lightly. “Although, they did stop the National City Bank robbery today before I could get to it so, that’s great. They’ve been doing good so far, but I’d still like to have a chat with them. Winn, Alex and J’onn have been doing some research to see if we can get any additional information.”
“Because even if they’re doing good deeds, they could still be a criminal or a threat.” Alex adds, and you feel your heart drop to your stomach.
All this time you’ve been doing everything you can to be a hero like your sisters. but now they’re saying your superhero identity may be a criminal. It’s honestly heartbreaking to hear, especially from your own family and that’s why you were absolutely terrified to tell them your secret. “What do you think, (Y/N)?” Lena’s voice asks, pulling you from your thoughts and you swallow, shrugging your shoulders.
“Uh, yeah… you should probably keep an eye out for them. Safety reasons.” You respond in false agreement and everyone nods before starting to talk again but you’re not listening, lost in your own thoughts.
Your food comes but you’ve lost your appetite and you mindlessly stare at your food, pushing it around with your fork. “Are you okay, love? You haven’t touched your food.” Lena questions with concern, looking at your plateful of pot stickers which Kara is already stealing, and you force a smile.
“Yeah, I’m just not hungry anymore…” You assure but you don’t sound very convincing and you ignore the worried gaze Lena continues to give you as you stare back at your plate.

“In other news, L-Corp’s CEO, Lena Luthor, has been reported missing since this afternoon. Some suspect that the evidence points to kidnapping while others believe the CEO has escaped with her mother, Lillian Luthor, in attempt to cause chaos in the city. The motive behind the Luthor’s are always unclear and unpredictable so, if anyone has any additional information on where the Luthor family could be, please contact the authorities immediately.”
Yes, Lena was with her mother. Yes, Lena was kidnapped. No, Lena was not working with her mother. When Kara had called, breaking the news to you that Lena was missing, you couldn’t help but have a panic attack.
Lena was your world and hearing that she was possibly kidnapped by her insane mother, you wanted to scream. You knew the rough life your girlfriend had lived, and you loved her so much you hid your superhero identity from her in order to keep her safe. You didn’t want to add to her stress and regular assassination attempts which is why after that fateful lunch date, just a month ago, you stopped being a hero. But now, hearing that Lena is in danger you quickly grab your suit from the back parts of your closet, slipping it on before jumping out your window.
You had bugged the DEO so, when they got a hit on Lena’s location you immediately begin to swing your way in that that direction. You knew your sisters would arrive before you did thanks to Kara’s supers speed but that didn’t stop your determination as you finally arrive at the warehouse on the outskirts of town. You quietly enter through a roof entrance, crawling along the ceiling as you take in the scene below.
“Supergirl!” Lena screams as she’s restrained by one of Lillian’s goons and Kara sends a glare in Lillian’s direction.
“Let her go, Lillian.” Kara growls with Alex by her side but Lillian simply chuckles, shaking her head.
“Oh, you silly naïve girl.” Lillian comments before throwing a small device at your sister.
Kara catches it easily but within a second a strong, high frequency wave emits from it causing your sister to be disoriented, falling to the ground. With your spider sense, your head begins to hurt at the over stimulus of sound and it takes everything in you to stay attached to the ceiling. “Supergirl!” Alex screams but she’s quickly restrained by two men before being thrown into a glass cell.
“Now it’s time for you to pay for what your cousin did.” Lillian declares as she pulls a gun from her jacket pocket.
You immediately notice the glowing green coming from within the gun and you panic when you identify it as kryptonite. She puts her finger on the trigger and without even thinking, you’re shooting webs at the floor before pulling yourself down with such force, knocking Lillian over harshly, causing the gun to skid across the floor. You land in your typical superhero position before grabbing the gun and throwing it some distance away.
Everyone is surprised by your entrance and Lillian groans as she stands but nonetheless sends you a chilling smile. “I knew you would show up.” Lillian states and all of a sudden it feels like your spider sense has been upped by 10, like knives are being jabbed in and out of your skull.
However, before you can move away from whatever is threatening you, you hear a shot ring in the air and you feel something enter your shoulder. Sharp pain emits from the hole and you instantly feel weaker, spider sense fading away. You stumble slightly, body shaking before falling to the ground, breathing heavily as you do.
“I didn’t know you’d be so easy to take down.” Lillian chuckles devilishly as she walks over to your hunched over position as you struggle to breathe.
Kara growls as she wrestles in her captures restraint but she’s still too weak to escape. “What did you do?” Kara sneers weakly and Lillian hums as she glances down at you.
“Ethyl chloride. In strong dosages it can drain all powers from spider-like powers. In other words, this is their kryptonite.” Lillian stops to look up at Kara and Alex. “I could kill you both, but I think taking something precious from you might do you worse. You as well, my daughter.” Lillian says now looking at Lena, who sends an angered questioning look.
“What are you talking about?” Lena questions and Lillian smiles devilishly as she reaches down and yanks the mask from your head.
Alex, Kara and Lena’s eyes widen to the size of saucers at the sight of you, face a sickly white while dark bags form under your eyes from the effects of the ethyl chloride. “(Y/N)?” Kara mumbles in disbelief and you sluggishly turn towards your sister.
“Kara…” You struggle to push past your lips causing Kara to shake her head as a new-found determination is burning in her eyes and the same goes for Alex.
“Let her go, Lillian! Or I’ll-” Kara demands but Lillian simply clicks her tongue, interrupting your sister.
“Or you’ll what? I can shoot her again and she’ll be dead instantly.” Lillian threatens in a calm collected voice. “This is my revenge. Your cousin took my son. Now, I take your sister.”
At this point, all three women have lost all composure as they begin to thrash violently against their restrainers. “No, you let her go you piece of shit!” Alex screams, as she bangs her fist violently against the bulletproof glass.
“I think it’s time we left.” Lillian declares nonchalantly and she gestures for more of her goons to come pick you up.
You don’t want to go and try your best to crawl away, going towards Lena, who has her hand outstretched to you. “Lena…”
“(Y/N)!” Lena screams as she fights against the arms who hold her back and you weakly reach up and she tightly grabs your hand in hers.
“I-I’m so sorry…” You mumble as you look up into her watery emerald eyes as you take in the feeling of her firm grip holding onto you but it doesn’t last long as men quickly pull you off the ground, breaking apart your hands and Lena loses it.
“No! Mother, you can’t do this, please!” Lena is now crying as she watches your pale body being carried away and Lillian smiles sadly, tilting her head to the side.
“My dear child, because of this you will learn.”
At that final statement, Lillian begins to walk away towards a getaway car and Kara finally breaks free, getting a burst of energy fueled by anger. “No!” She screams but is met with a man spraying a good amount of kryptonite spray at her, making her veins glow green and she cries out, falling to the ground.
Kara watches through pained vision as the car drives away swiftly and she’s too weak to fly after it no matter how much she wants to. She glances around seeing Lena curled up in a ball crying heavily and Alex pacing around in her cell with tears running down her face.
Kara finally lets out a sob as she rests her head to the cold concrete ground, repeating phrases in her mind. You were no criminal. You were a sister, you were Lena’s other half, you were a hero… you were their kryptonite.
